The AED is a "Automated External Defibrillator"
a portable device that diagnoses life threatening "Cardiac Arrest"
The location of your AED from your, school, nursery or even your own home is a piece of vital information you should know about. The question asked should be, how long will it take me or someone to retrieve the AED?
Many public places such as shopping centres, Post Offices and local community centres have AED placed on walls outside their buildings.
If you don't know where your nearest AED is located then go and find out. Ask a local police officer or a member of your local council.
There are many types of AED and it is important that you have some understanding of your AED.
For example you may have to use different pads for a child, pads may be colour coded i.e. red for adults green for children.
Watch the Video Clip
